I am going to let you in on a little secret that I most likely share with many other women and men; I have bad hair. I am certain the 18 years of swimming two times a day in a chlorinated pool did not help, nor the wet chlorine hair being pulled back everyday, but now that my swimming life is over I still struggle with my hair. I used to have incredibly thick hair that has thinned over the years. I also have fly-aways, cow licks, and more volume at the bottom than the top. I hate to admit it, but it is indeed true. So I splurge on hair products now, from shampoos to brushes to straighteners. I learned one important thing; it does matter what you use and how you use it. I had the chance to try out the Conair Nano Silver Collection and it has become my new go-to haircare line. I used the Tourmaline Ceramic Styler, the Tourmaline Ceramic Straightener, and the Tourmaline Ceramic Rollers. My favorites were the styler and straightener, that may also be because my hair hates rollers like the plague. The products all work beautifully and are priced very reasonably. I recently purchased a $300 straightener and I can say with confidence (though feeling silly) that the Conair Ceramic Straightener made my hair look the exact same at a fraction of the price.
I first tried the Conair Tourmaline Ceramic Styler which features three heat levels at two speed settings. I opted for the middle heat setting, warm, and started with the highest level. The micro particles of the tourmaline ceramic and silver are said to emit frizz-reducing natural ions. This actually did work, for my wavy and many times unnameable hair was soft and almost ready to be worn out as is. My one cowlick was bothering me, which I knew the straightener would help with. The next time I used the hair dryer/styler I tried the adjustable diffuser and then rolled my hair to give myself nice waves, curls, and volume. Buy through Conair for $54.99.
Sure, the styler got my hair dry, but my favorite product is the Tourmaline Ceramic Straightener which left my hair silky soft, pin straight, and did not leave me with tons of fly-away hairs or suck out the volume. The ionic technology and infrared energy helps promote your hair’s natural shine and luster. I love being in control of the temperature of my straightener and this straightener offers high heat levels, up to 395ºF. I am always sure to use a heat protection product when straightening my hair, but even without, I felt this straightener did not totally fry or zap my hair. The heat is generated quickly, in 30 seconds. With hair like mine I need a straightener that can provide the clean sleek look without making my hair completely static and without life, which this product delivered on. Now I have to be honest, I have never really used or been a fan of rollers. My hair is naturally wavy/curly so I never saw a use for them. But when I first let my sister use them on me I realized that my curls looked much cleaner and more beautiful. I still never got into using rollers on myself much, but with this product I felt like I could try it out one more time to see if I liked them. While I still do not love using them on myself, and will rely on my hair salon to use them for me, the Tourmaline Ceramic Rollers were relatively easy to use and really gave a beautiful curl to my hair. I ended up letting my sister use them while she was down for the Holidays and she absolutely loved them. Prior to the Conair Rollers she was using very old school rollers, so these were like heaven to her. The set comes with 20 Nano Silver Tourmaline Ceramic multi-sized flocked rollers, which allows you to give any look you wish to your hair. The heat is distributed evenly which will cause less damage and the rollers heat up quickly, in 2 minutes. There are 12 temperature settings which allows you to set everything up to your liking. Sure. rollers are not my favorite, but my hair after these rollers was beautiful and my sister gave them two thumbs up. Buy through Conair for $54.99.
The line as a whole gets two thumbs up from me. Between the amazing prices, the ease of use, and the finished product, you really can not go wrong with the Conair Nano Silver Collection!
