A little while back, I wrote about some sky-high Louboutin heels and how I can’t wear them because of myriad joint problems in my legs, and a commenter asked me to recommend some flats for other ladies in my situation - brilliant suggestion, commenter! Even though it seems like everyone but me wears heels, I know there have to be some ladies out there that feel my pain (literally) when it comes to tall shoes, and we should not be ignored!
So today, I bring you the Stuart Weitzman Youngbuck Flats in Red Quasar patent. If you’ve never taken a close look at these or any other Weitzman shoes in this color, I encourage you to do so immediately. Their red patent is easily the most beautiful I have ever seen, and it has a depth of tone and a slight, subdued sparkle to it that makes it radiant in a way that’s nearly impossible to capture in picture.
The color itself makes them undeniable glamorous shoes, even if they’re flats, and the oversized buckle gives them a bit of polish and personality. These shoes would go with a cute dress at the office or with skinny jeans on the weekend, and their price (originally about $240) combined with their versatility makes them a great deal compared to a lot of the $700+ shoes that seem to be popular lately. So get them in three colors! But if you have to choose, definitely go with the beautiful red first. Buy through Zappos for $148.

Like I’ve mentioned before, I love a good waist-cinching belt. There’s nothing better for defining your shape under mountain of cold-weather clothing than a beautiful, detailed piece of leather (or, in today’s case, suede). They can make an outfit look intentional instead of thrown-together and offer just as good an opportunity for accessorizing as shoes or jewelry.
They can also make a variety of clothing options possible for those with non-model bodies. Maybe you love the colors and fabrics that you see some tent dresses in, but have boobs too big to even try? Well buy one, add a belt at your thinnest point, and bam - you’ve got a dress that’s flattering and easily adjustable for your body. In my mind, everyone should have a good waist belt in at least a few colors, and this season, purple is one of the biggest shades around.
That’s why you should all seriously consider Linea Pelle’s Suede and Gunmetal Grommet Waist Belt in violet. Suede is such a lush material for cooler weather, and I don’t think I need to read you my color-as-neutral manifesto again. So just go buy the belt, or something similar, and try it out. You’ll thank me. Buy through Linea Pelle for $175.
Simple, elegant, and stunning, the Gucci Chiodo Nail Bracelet lures you in. The design is so unbelievably simple that as I look at this piece I assure myself that I could have designed it. But I didn’t, Gucci did, and that is why the price is what it is. The sleek design is made with 18k gold and makes a bold statement with the chiodo nail concept. The cuff is hinged. If you are a fan of Gucci and this is in your budget, it is a stunning timeless piece.

If you have read a few of my posts here and other on Purse Blog, than you know that my style is casual. Casual does not mean sloppy, nor does it mean out of style, but I prefer being comfortable before being in the hottest designer frock that restrains my lungs from inhaling and exhaling. And cotton, I love cotton! It feels great on and is a great material that breathes well. So mixing my love of color purple, my love of being casual chic, and my appreciation of cotton, I found the Chloe Knotted Mini Dress which is a smash hit. I am already a fan of Chloe, mainly Chloe Bags, and now I am becoming a fan of Chloe dresses (well the affordable ones at least!). This dress has it all for me. It is very relaxed and can easily be worn with flats during the day or heels at night. The dress is lined in 100% silk while the outside is 100% cotton. The focal piece is the knotted drape detail and bubble hemline. I love love love it!

I have a huge crush on the high waisted trend. And not tooting my own horn, because my body could use a little work, but high waisted pants tend to look good on me because of my height. The Mayle Fillipa Pants are made in a midnight blue color to resemble denim and feature four pockets. The metal buttons that fasten through the front add an edgy touch. This is an ideal look with a tank top and oversized sunglasses. Then you can just throw on some cool bangles and a necklace and you will look totally chic, casual, and styling! Even better is that these pants are marked down at Net A Porter right now.

You know what is upon us? Beach season! And while I live less than a mile away from the beach, I still smile like a child thinking about going to the beach. With time I have learned to dress beach chic, which involves a cute dress paired with a stylish hat and sunglasses. The bikini needs to be flattering and show off all assets. But if you do not want to reveal much, keep a cute dress on and just frolic in the sand. I love the fun appeal of the Tara Matthews Flamingo Print Dress which features an ombre flamingo print on the 100% silk strapless dress. The design is simple and easy to wear, with a shirred bust. Simply pull the dress on and go.

The look for me right now is clean. Clean lines, clean colors, no fuss. I am all about the cardigan paired with wide leg jeans and a cute top underneath. I am even opting for the bold yet solid colors, so I am needing to spice is up a little. The preppy resort appeal of blue and white stripes comes together perfectly in the Graham & Spencer Striped Camisole Top. This 100% cotton camisole features horizontal chunky stripes and thin shoulder straps. I have sailed and while I am not a pro, wouldn’t this be the cutest top to take out?
Ok so I was not blessed with beautiful hair. Sure, after I leave the salon it looks great, but if my stylist is not with me at all times my hair is close to a lost cause. I am pretty certain the 18+ years of 4 hours of chlorine a day did not help. So my hair is typically pulled back, and not even that chicly. I try, but I just am not great with hair! I am a fan of headbands, but that is a whole different problem. My head is too big and the band always slowly inches its way back, and soon just flings off. Like I said, a lost cause. Thicker headbands sometimes work and I would love to branch out a little more and find some that are chic and give my head a little better look. I love the color palette of the Diane von Furstenberg Printed Headscarf, which includes blues and mocha browns. The silk jersey material features a self-tie. It is worth a try!

David Meister Stretch Satin Cocktail Dress
I have been drawn to David Meister dresses for some time now for many reasons. The fact is, clothing prices have gotten ridiculously expensive and finding a beautiful affordable for your budget piece has become hard. One of the most important parts of your wardrobe is your little black dress collection. I am so obsessed with finding the right LBD that my LBD collection is quite skimpy. I have been looking for something very fitting recently and ran into the David Meister Stretch Satin Cocktail Dress, which I absolutely love. This dress is absolutely sexy and fitted, made with acetate, nylon and spandex. The reason I really love this dress is because it is knee length. Let’s face it, not all of us love how our legs look and with the genius invention of Spanx you can suck in your thighs and stomach and wear a dress like this over the top. There are three pleats at the bodice and a seamed skirt. Not only do I love the look, but also the price!

Immediately when I saw these jeans they lured me in. While I have a hard time deciding who looks good in high waisted jeans (I truly believe it depends on your body type, a tall gal and a shorter gal can pull them off), these are killer! The D&G Dolce & Gabbana High Waisted Jeans feature blue stretch denim with a high waist and flare bottom. There are four button fastening pockets and belt loops. These jeans were seen on the D&G runway and the look is perfect for spring. I have a great pair of flare jeans that I bought recently, but I actually have not delved into the high waist department lately. But pairing these with a tucked in top and a great belt is the perfect look for spring that will transition to fall.
